The Brunner Pilote Caddy 5 Tailgate Awning is a frameless awning that simply attaches to the tailgate of the new VW Caddy 5. The Pilote Caddy 5 awning makes a great enclosure for a shower, Portaloo, outdoor storage or shelter/dining area on wet or windy days if you have a tailgate cooker.

The awning roof attaches to the Caddy’s tailgate with sturdy straps and magnetic strips simply connect the sides of the van to ensure it stays weathertight. The awning is pegged at the bottom and the 4 x guylines keep it secure. The rear door can either be rolled up out of the way or pegged out with guylines king poles to create a sun canopy – great for hot days.

Two large mesh windows on the right side of the awning and in the rear door allow good airflow.

This unique frameless design has a very small pack size so is perfect for a compact van and great for daytime use… although if you do want to close your tailgate for security you will have to detach the roof straps from the tailgate first and fold down the awning to the ground.
